Handling
Privacy
This is a security site, so the standard should be higher than a template policy. Here is exactly what is stored, why, and what is not.
Where your interview answers go
Answers are evaluated by a language model running on our own server. They are not sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or any other third-party AI provider. This is not a marketing line — it is the reason the evaluation is self-hosted, and it means the text you type does not become someone else's training data or leave our infrastructure.
An answer is held in memory for the length of the grading request. It is written to the database only if you are in a saved session — that is, you chose to save or email a report. If you practise without saving, nothing you typed is retained after the response is returned.
The salary survey
The survey is anonymous by construction, not by promise. There is no name field, no email field, and no free-text employer field, so there is nothing to de-anonymise. What is stored is the structured answers you selected: role, seniority, years of experience, region, employer type, certifications, compensation and currency.
Aggregates are only published when a role, region and seniority cell contains at least five responses. Below that, the cell is suppressed rather than shown with a caveat — a median of two salaries identifies people.
What we log
- A salted hash of your IP address, for rate limiting and to damp duplicate survey submissions. It is a one-way hash — we cannot recover the address from it, and it is not linked to your answers in any queryable way.
- Standard web server logs, kept briefly for security and debugging.
- Google Analytics 4, with IP anonymisation enabled, to understand which material is useful. It is only loaded if a measurement ID is configured. Block it if you prefer — nothing on the site depends on it.
Email addresses
You are only asked for an email address if you choose to have a report sent to you. It is stored to send that report and, if you opt in, occasional updates when new material ships. It is never sold or shared. Every message includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask for deletion at any time.
Accounts
Accounts are optional and exist only to track progress across sessions. You can use the simulator, the library, the roadmap and the survey without one.
Cookies
A session cookie is set when you start an interview so the server can associate your answers with the right session. Analytics sets its own cookies if it is enabled. There is no advertising network, no tracking pixel, and no third-party embed on this site.
